About Flatbed Creative

We are a full-service boutique agency made up entirely of former magazine editors, writers, and art directors who have worked at national publications, including Wired, The Atlantic, Rolling Stone, and more.

Collectively, we’ve sold books and screenplays to major publishers and production companies, and overseen photo and video shoots and branding campaigns for global businesses and media companies. Big, long-term, multilayered projects—no problem. We’ve seen it all. Now we apply that same journalistic rigor, readability, and elevated design to help our clients tell stories, communicate complex ideas, and create thought-leadership campaigns through text, video, photography, art, and more. We offer turnkey solutions for integrated projects, and handle the process from idea generation and media strategy to final, tightly edited and proofread product. We also work in multiple mediums—from print and digital to video—and on numerous platforms, including Ceros, Figma, InDesign, WordPress, and more.

Stayton Bonner

Stayton Bonner founded Flatbed Creative in 2018 and serves as its chief creative officer. A former senior editor, copywriter, and strategist with Apple’s Retail Engagement and Marketing team, he also worked as an editor and writer at Rolling Stone and at other publications including The Atlantic, Outside, GQ, and Wired. He brings the same collaborative approach he honed in corporate marketing and magazine publishing to creating stories across channels for a range of partners.

 
 

Ryan Krogh

Ryan Krogh is a partner at Flatbed Creative and its executive editorial director. A former features editor at Men’s Journal and a senior editor at Outside, Krogh has written for a range of publications, from The Guardian and GQ to Garden & Gun, Texas Monthly, and Scientific American. He edited numerous award-winning travel features at Men’s Journal, and during his time at Outside, the publication won a National Magazine Award for general excellence. At Flatbed, Krogh excels at overseeing storytelling across a range of platforms and mediums.

 
 

Drue Wagner

Drue Wagner is an art director at Flatbed Creative. A former AD at GQ, Bon Appetit, and The Wall Street Journal, she has deep experience creating content across platforms, and has won awards for her original illustrations.
